An American Garage Door Factory Steelback is like having a block wall that rolls up and down every day. They are safer, stronger, quieter, and give you more security. Our steelbacks are made up of three layers: woodgrain steelback, safe, stable, and rigid polystyrene insulation. Some companies sell polyurethane doors with a higher R-value that will bubble, peel, or become brittle. Rigid polystyrene will not do any of those things. We only use polystyrene that is rock-solid and has been used for a long time. Our American Garage Door Factory uses special density foam and two layers of steel with our pressure-max bonding to make the best doors. We only use solid sheets of foam to insulate our steelbacks, which makes them work better than other companies that use multiple pieces. Our steelback is a model that is stronger, uses less energy, and is quieter.
Our standard 2″ thick non-insulated pan door has our unique raised shadowline for extra strength. It stops oil canning. When oil canning happens, waves and dips pop and ping on the front of garage doors. American Garage Door Factory gives you extra strength for free! Our Formula 124 steel is thicker and heavier than the 25 GA or 26 GA models made by other companies. At American Garage Door Factory, it’s very important that our doors work well and quietly. That’s why we use thicker, heavy-duty end and center brace stiles to better support your door. Our end stiles are bonded and mechanically fastened in a way that makes them quieter and stronger than others. We use a 1 Mil thick baked-on polyester paint coating on the outside to protect it from the weather better than anyone else. On the inside, we use a full 1 Mil thick finish instead of a ½ Mil finish like others do. Standard construction uses hot-dipped galvanised steel for extra protection. You can protect yourself from the weather even more by adding a rust-proof bottom weather seal retainer with a bottom seal that can be replaced.
